Ellen Pompeo isn’t fully checked out of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’: ‘I’ll definitely be back’

Ellen Pompeo, who plays the role of April Kepner on the ABC’s hit drama Grey’s Anatomy, is one of Hollywood’s hottest actors. But she’s not immune to the pressures of the big-time drama world.

Ellen Pompeo isn’t a stranger to the high-stakes world of film and TV, but she’s certainly not immune to the pressures of the big-time drama world.

Pompeo, who’s just finished filming her season four episode as a series regular on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, was in L.A. recently promoting her upcoming action film, The First Purge. And she told PopEater.com today that one of the reasons why she returned to the TV show was because it’s “wonderful” and “amazing” to work on.

“I think it’s wonderful. I would love for it to be bigger and to be successful. I love it,” said Pompeo. “I feel like I’m one of the most natural actors that, from my very earliest days, have had the opportunity to work in front of people.”

Although she won’t return to the ABC drama until a midseason return in 2013, Pompeo is keeping busy. She’ll appear in another one of ABC’s upcoming dramas, ABC’s Nashville.

She’s done the same with the film, filming a handful of scenes and appearing at the film’s San Francisco premiere.

Pompeo plays Dr. April Kepner and her family in a role that’s both hilarious and frightening. She says she’s enjoyed the journey so far, adding that she’s been enjoying her time with the cast and crew.
