Future Playoffs, End of Season Rankings are week 11

The end of the season, like we saw last season, and it’s too soon to say. I will go out on a limb and say at this point that if the Baltimore Ravens draft Stanford quarterback, he will spend most of his season on the bench. Baltimore has drafted not only quarterbacks, but also, the pro receivers, to help with Colin Kaepernick’s role being pared down.

The New York Jets did not have the best game as well as they are in need of several offensive changes including a run game, which continues to fade into the background. The Dolphins finish the year 6-10, but surprisingly they had one of the most disappointing campaigns.

In these toss-up game, each of these are sitting in deep free-fall situations for their respective teams for the next several seasons. They may be mathematically alive for the playoffs, but realistically, only the Dolphin team will continue to exist.

Against the Patriots last week in South Florida, the Patriots stopped their time to watch for revenge from Sunday night’s infamous 41-28 loss to the Ravens on home turf. The New England Patriots dominated the game against the Jaguars with total control of the game’s offensive and defensive games. The Patriots are now 8-2 and seem poised to take over the AFC East and certainly retain the AFC’s top seed.

The Ravens are currently playing at 11-4. Their main issues seem to be their third down prowess. They are getting to the red zone, but more often than not, they don’t come away with a touchdown. Even last week, they came away with 12 first downs, while 4 of them came from the red zone. With the newly acquired weapons, and the running game, they have a chance to go deep in the playoffs. The time might not be now, it’s probably to be at season’s end.

Who’s going to beat whom? Despite going into week 11 with somewhat of a lead in the standings, the Jets are really moving in the wrong direction, as are the Ravens. Once again, it seems as if neither team is that serious about the play-offs. If those two teams continued this pattern, we wouldn’t see a lot of teams making playoffs for a few years.
