Prince and Princess of Wales to Visit Boston as the Royal Family Recasts Itself. Prince Harry will embark on a week of engagements in Boston next week. He will be accompanied by his mother, Kate, and his brother, Prince William, who is carrying his first baby, and both parents.
The couple has scheduled five engagements in the city where they have moved to over the past year and a half to be greeted by a long list of Boston’s elite. They plan to participate in events ranging from a celebration of the Boston Red Sox baseball team on Wednesday, to a benefit performance of the Boston Pops Orchestra on Thursday night, where they are supposed to take in a performance by the Boston Pops Orchestra. Harry will also appear at an event Tuesday at the historic City Hall, where he is expected to meet Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, then on to a reception for the Boston Freedom of Expression Group on Wednesday night at the Boston Civic Center where a variety of prominent organizations will be hosting signatures and other materials for the protest against the proposed new regulations, and more.
An unexpected announcement today was that the Duke and Duchess of York will also be meeting in Boston next week. The couple is going to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to attend a workshop on understanding the research community, and then to the American Academy of Pediatrics, where the Prince will receive the annual award of the President’s Award for Advancing Medical Education and Advancing Cancer Curriculum and Research.
