Miami police are looking for his ex-girlfriends in connection with his murder, a report said.

Clenney, along with two friends, was indicted for the killing of her boyfriend, 22-year-old Matthew Barnes, at the apartment the two shared in the city’s Little River neighborhood, the Sun-Sentinel reported. The Miami police arrest report said a man in his 30s broke into the apartment and allegedly beat Barnes until he couldn’t move, before shooting him.
The couple, meanwhile, told police they were arguing about a dog that Barnes had on Saturday, March 29, the Miami Herald reported. The next day, Barnes called his boyfriend from a pay phone asking him to meet him at the apartment, and he texted Clenney to say they were going to go get things straightened out, the police report said.
The man inside the apartment told police he went to the bedroom to get his cell phone, which was in the bedroom, when Barnes entered, the report said. Barnes then put his hands behind his back and fell to the floor, the man inside the apartment told police.
When the man went to check on Barnes, he saw Barnes had been shot, the report said. His friend, who had also been in the apartment with Barnes, told police he went outside to call an ambulance and saw Barnes lying next to a trash can, the report said.
