A California couple’s wedding day had already been delayed by storms and a trip to Vegas was nixed at the last minute. All that was left was to catch the in-flight meals and time to talk in common. So, why not do both?

Jake Ward and Kaia Kenoyer flew from Sacramento to Paris on United Airlines on May 10 and ate dinner together and greeted each other warmly while sharing “dates” — half hours of free time before landing. They spent an hour talking in French and continued the conversation after landing.
The pair, who met as eighth graders, tried to plan their flight, but canceled their Vegas trip at the last minute.
They posed for a photo together, as if nothing had happened: their flight was already delayed.
It didn’t hit them that a lifetime of friends and family was standing around and eager to hear about their wedding until a coworker told them at work the next day that they had just met and photographed them together and that they should share the news.
Since then, Twitter users around the world have been sharing the beautiful image of the couple while they ate, before getting married in a ceremony.
The flight (which was intended to take off from Sacramento) was cancelled a few days later because of more bad weather, further delaying the big day.
But after seeing the photo online, Ward told CNN he was finally happy to be back home.
